ACCEPTING DEATH (Yerushalmi Halachah 10 Daf 30a)

(a)

A child of R. Avahu died. R. Yonah and R. Yosi came [to console him]. Due to their fear of him, they did not say to him Divrei Torah.

1.

He said to them "Rabanan should say a Devar Torah!" They said "our master should say."

2.

R. Avahu: Lower (human) authority, which has falsity, deception, favoritism and acceptance of bribes, and today he is here, and tomorrow he is not - it says that the relatives greet the judges and witnesses and judges, to say that we do not bear a grudge, for you judged correctly;

3.

Upper authority (Hash-m), which has no falsity, deception, favoritism or acceptance of bribes, and He lives and endures forever, all the more so we must accept Midas ha'Din upon ourselves!

4.

And it says "v'Nasan Lecha Rachamim v'Richamcha v'Hirbecha Ka'asher Nishba la'Avosecha" (in the merit of judging Ir ha'Nidachas, they get Midas ha'Rachamim).
