BECHOR
What is the connection of this section regarding Bechor, to the topic of the Shalosh Regalim which follows?
THREE FESTIVALS
Why is this topic repeated in Sefer Devarim? We already learned about these Yamim Tovim in Parshiyos Emor (Vayikra 23) and Pinchas (Bamidbar 28 -29)!
Why, throughout this section, doesn't the Torah give the precise date for any of the Yamim Tovim? It mentions only the agricultural seasons; a. "Aviv," b. harvesting the grain, c. gathering?
Why does this section completely omit mention of Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, and Shemini Atzeres?
PESACH
How do we "guard" the season of Pesach? Why must Pesach fall in the spring?
In what sense did Hashem take us out of Egypt "at night"? The Torah makes it clear (see Bamidbar 33:3) that we left by day, in full view of the Egyptians!
But cattle cannot be used for the Korban Pesach! (See Shemos 12:5 .) Why are they mentioned here?
What does "Lechem Oni" mean; and what Halachos about Matzah are derived from this term?
REMEMBERING THE EXODUS
When do we fulfill this Mitzvah, "to remember the day of your leaving Egypt, all the days of your life"?
KORBAN PESACH
Why does the Torah use a term of 'Bishul,' cooking, when we know that the Korban Pesach must be roasted (Shemos 12:8-9)?
LINAH
Is the Mitzvah to remain overnight in Yerushalayim, leaving only the next morning, limited to Pesach? Then why is it recorded specifically here?
On which morning may one leave - after the first day of Yom Tov, or perhaps only on Isru Chag, after all 7 days of Pesach?
SEVENTH DAY
We just learned (v. 3) that we should eat Matzah for seven days! Why does this Pasuk (v. 8) say six days?
What is the meaning of the term "Atzeres"? What Halachos do we derive from it about the seventh day of Pesach?
SEFIRAS HA'OMER
What aspect of counting the Omer is derived from this Pasuk?
What common Halachah is derived from this term - "standing [grain]"?
1. Mafteach to Devarim 16:9:2.1:1, and note
ALIYAH LA'REGEL
What does the term "Misas" mean?
Why is the Aliyah la'Regel of Shavuos only one day (unlike Pesach and Sukos)?
SIMCHAH
Why does the Torah mention 'Simchah' (in this section) once on Shavuos, twice on Sukos -- and not at all on Pesach?
Why does the Torah specify four types of poor people?
Which Matenos Aniyim gladden the poor on Shavuos? And which on Sukos?
Why does the Torah insert here, that in our Simchas Yom Tov we must remember that we were slaves in Egypt? Why specifically regarding Shavuos?
In what sense does the Torah refer to the mitzvos of Shavuos as "Chukim" (which usually denotes Mitzvos without a given reason)?
SUKOS
What Halachos of the Sukah are derived from this Pasuk?
1. Mafteach to Devarim 16:13:0.2:1, til q. 6
Why does the Torah twice command Simchah, in connection to Sukos?
