Did the inanimate earth have free will, to obey or disobey Hashem's command to produce edible trees? Why then did it deviate, according to Maharal? What is the connection to Man's sin?

No Divine Blessing? -
Hashem blessed the birds and fish on Day 5, and Man on Day 6, to be "fruitful" and multiply. If so, why didn't Hashem similarly bless the fruit trees themselves to propagate, on Day 3?
