NAME OF THE FESTIVAL

1) Yom ha'Bikurim -

Why does the Torah refer to Shavuos as "Yom ha'Bikurim"?

2) Not a "Chag"? -

Why doesn't the Torah refer to Shavuos as a "Chag" (in this section)?

MUSAF OFFERINGS

3) Not A Chatas? -

Why doesn't the Torah specify that the he-goat is a "Chatas" - as it does for every other Yom Tov?

MA'ASEH MERKAVAH

4) And Matan Torah -

What is the connection between this Haftarah, and the Torah reading of the day (Matan Torah)?

5) And Yisrael -

What is represented by a royal "chariot"? In what sense is the Jewish People Hashem's "Divine Chariot"?

A NEVU'AH IN GALUS

When did this Nevuah take place? How was it "the thirtieth year," if the second Pasuk tells us it was in "the fifth year" [of the exile of Yehoyachin]?

Why is it significant that Yechezkel was "amidst the exile" at the time of this Nevu'ah?

What was the purpose of this Nevu'ah?

Why did the vision of the Merkavah begin with "a storm wind from the north"?

In the Haftarah for Parshas Yisro (Yeshayah 6), Yeshayah describes his vision of the Heavenly Throne, and the Malachim saying Shirah - in but a few short Pesukim (Yeshayah 6:1-4) Whereas here, Yechezkel describes it at great length! Why?

1. Mafteach to Yechezkel 1:5:3, Also see our comments from the Malbim to Yechezkel 1:10, and throughout this Perek.

THE ANGELS' PRAISE

Why does Yechezkel note four wings, whereas Yeshayah (6:2) saw six wings?

Why was it at this stage in history, approaching the Galus, that the Mal'achim uttered "Baruch Kevod Hashem mi'Mekomo?"

What do we mean by Hashem's "place"? What is the meaning of this praise?
