אַקְדָּמוּת מִלִּין, וְשָׁרָיוּת שׁוּתָא,	In introduction to my words, and at the outset of my speech;
אַוְלָא שָׁקִילְנָא, הַרְמָן וּרְשׁוּתָא:	At the beginning I will request consent and permission.
בְּבָבֵי תְּרֵי וּתְלָת, דְּּאֶפְתַּח בְּנַקְשׁוּתָא,	In sections of two and three, which I open in trembling;
בְּבָרֵי דְבָרֵי וְטָרֵי, עֲדֵי לְקַשִּׁישׁוּתָא:	With consent of He who created and protects until old age.
גְּבוּרָן עָלְמִין לֵיהּ, וְלָא סִפֵּק פְּרִישׁוּתָא,	The worlds' mighty deeds are His, and it would be insufficient to express them
גְּוִיל אִלּוּ רְקִיעֵי, קְנֵי כָּל חוּרְשָׁתָא:	- Even if the heavens were parchment, and all the forests quills.
דְּיוֹ אִלּוּ יַמֵּי, וְכָל מֵי כְּנִישׁוּתָא,	Even were the seas ink, and all gathered waters;
דַּיְּירֵי אַרְעָא סָָפְרֵי, וְרָשְׁמֵי רַשְׁוָתָא:	The earth's inhabitants scribes, and even recorders of initials.
הֲדַר מָרֵי שְׁמַיָּא, וְשַׁלִּיט בְּיַבֶּשְׁתָּא,	- The splendor of the Master of the heavens, and Ruler upon the earth;
הָקֵם עָלְמָא יְחִידָאֵי, וְכַבְּשֵׁיהּ בְּכַבְּשׁוּתָא:	Who alone established the world, and held it back with limits.
וּבְלָא לֵאוּ שַׁכְלְלֵיהּ, וּבְלָא תְּשָׁשׁוּתָא,	And without weariness He established it, without weakening;
וּבְאָתָא קַלִּילָא, דְּלֵית בַּהּ מְשָׁשׁוּתָא:	And with but an insubstantial letter, which has no tangibility.
זַמִּין כָּל עֲבִידְתֵּיהּ, בְּהַךְ יוֹמֵי שִׁתָּא,	He prepared all of His actions in these six days;
זְְהוֹר יְקָרֵיהּ עֲלִי, עֲלֵי כוּרְסֵיהּ דְּאֶשָּׁתָא:	Then His luminous glory ascended upon His throne of fire.
חֲיָל אֶלֶף אַלְפִין וְרִבּוֹא לְשַׁמְּשׁוּתָא,	An army of a thousand thousands, a myriad to serve Him;
חַדְתִּין נְבוֹט לְצַפְרִין, סַגִּיאָה טְרָשׁוּתָא:	New ones sprout each morning, great is His trustworthiness!
טְפֵי יְקִידִין שְׂרָפִין, כְּלוֹל גַּפֵּי שִׁתָּא,	More are the flaming Serafim, all with six wings;
טְעֵם עַד יִתְיְהֵב לְהוֹן, שְׁתִיקִין בְּאַדִּשְׁתָּא:	Until permission is granted to them, they are quiet in perfect silence.
יְקַבְּלוּן דֵּין מִן דֵּין, שָׁוֵי, דְּלָא בְּשַׁשְׁתָּא,	They receive permission one from the other, simultaneously with no delay;
יְקַר מְלֵי כָל אַרְעָא, לִתְלוֹתֵי קְדוּשְׁתָּא:	"His glory fills the whole world," after thrice declaring "Holy."
כְּקָל מִן קֳדָם שַׁקַּי, כְּקָל מֵי נְפִישׁוּתָא,	Like a voice from before the Almighty, like the sound of great waters;
כְּרוּבִין קֳבֵל גַּלְגַּלִּין, מְרוֹמְמִין בְּאַוְשָׁתָא:	Keruvim opposite Galgalim, they exalt in great volume.
לְמֶחֱזֵי בְּאַנְפָּא עֵין, כְּוָת גִּירֵי קַשְׁתָּא,	Appearing to the eye like arrows shot from a bow;
לְכָל אֲתַר דְּמִשְׁתַּלְּחִין, זְרִיזִין בְּאַשְׁוָתָא:	To every place that they are sent, they hasten with alacrity.
מְבָרְכִין בְּרִיךְ יְקָרֵיהּ, בְּכָל לְשָׁן לְחִישׁוּתָא,	They bless, "Blessed is His glory" in every language of whispered prayer,
מֵאֲתַר בֵּית שְׁכִינְתֵּיהּ, דְּלָא צְרִיךְ בְּחִישׁוּתָא:	"From the place of the abode of His Presence" - which needs no searching out.
נְהִים כָּל חֵיל מְרוֹמָא, מְקַלְּסִין בַּחֲשַׁשְׁתָּא,	The entire army on High roars, they praise with trepidation;
נְהִירָא מַלְכוּתֵהּ, לְדָר וְדָר לְאַפְרַשְׁתָּא:	"May His Sovereignty illuminate, expressed in all generations!"
סְדִירָא בְהוֹן קְדוּשְׁתָּא, וְכַד חַלְפָא שַׁעְתָּא,	They arrange the Kedushah, but when the hour passes;
סִיּוּמָא דִלְעָלַם, וְאוֹף לָא לִשְׁבוּעֲתָא:	- it is finished forever, not even after seven years.
עֲדַב יְקַר אַחֲסַנְתֵּיהּ, חֲבִיבִין דְּבִקְבַעְתָּא,	But the lot of His precious inheritance is even more beloved, for with regularity
עֲבִידִין לֵיהּ חֲטִיבָא, בִּדְנַח וּשְׁקַעְתָּא:	- They make Him unique, in the morning and in the evening.
פְּרִישָׁן לְמָנָתֵיהּ, לְמֶעְבַּד לֵיהּ רְעוּתָא,	Set aside as His portion, to perform His will,
פְּרִישׁוּתֵיהּ שְׁבָחֵיהּ, יְחַוּוֹן בְּשָׁעוּתָא:	His wonders and His praises, they relate at every hour.
צְבִי וְחָמִיד וְרָגִיג, דְּיִלְאוּן בְּלָעוּתָא,	He wants, desires, and yearns, that they toil in Torah-study;
צְלוֹתְהוֹן בְּכֵן מְקַבֵּל, וְהַנְיָא בָעוּתָא:	Therefore their prayers He accepts, and their request is effective.
קְטִירָא לְחֵי עָלְמָא, בְּתָגָא בִּשְׁבוּעֲתָא,	These are tied for the Eternal, as a crown, by oath,
קֳבֵל יְקַר טוֹטֶפְתָּא, יְתִיבָא בִקְבִיעוּתָא:	Opposite the precious Tefilin, it sits in fixed place.
רְשִׁימָא הִיא גוּפָא, בְּחָכְמְתָא וּבְדַּעְתָּא,	The above is inscribed, with wisdom and knowledge,
רְבוּתְהוֹן דְּיִשְׂרָאֵל, קְרָאֵי בִשְׁמַעְתָּא:	- With the greatness of Yisrael, who recite the Shema!
שְׁבַח רִבּוֹן עָלְמָא, אֲמִירָא דַכְוָתָא,	To praise the Master of the World is pure speech;
שְׁפַר עֲלַי לְחַוּוֹיֵהּ, בְּאַפֵּי מַלְכְּוָתָא:	It is fitting for me to relate it in the presence of kings.
תָּאִין וּמִתְכַּנְּשִׁין, כְּחֵזוּ אִדְוָתָא,	They come and they gather, appearing like the waves;
תְּמֵהִין וְשָׁיְלִין לֵיהּ, בְּעֵסֶק אָתְוָתָא:	They are astounded, and ask of him concerning the wonders.
מְנָן וּמָאן הוּא רְחִימָךְ, שַׁפִּירָא בְּרֵיוָתָא,	"From where, and Who is your Beloved, O beautiful of appearance;
אֲרוּם בְּגִינֵיהּ סָפִית, מְדוֹר אַרְיָוָתָא:	That for his sake you perish in the lion's den?
יְקָרָא וְיָאָה אַתְּ, אִין תַּעַרְבִי לְמַרְוָתָא,	You are honored and beautiful, if you would assimilate to our authority;
רְעוּתֵךְ נַעֲבֵד לִיךְ, בְּכָל אַתְרְוָתָא:	We would do what you will, in all locales!"
בְּחָכְמְתָא מְתִיבָתָא לְהוֹן, קְצָת לְהוֹדָעוּתָא,	With wisdom she responds to them, just a bit to inform them;
יְדַעְתּוּן חַכְּמִין לֵיהּ, בְּאִשְׁתְּמוֹדָעוּתָא:	If your wise men would but know Him, with true recognition!
רְבוּתְכוֹן מָה חֲשִׁיבָא, קֳבֵל הַהִיא שְׁבַחְתָּא,	Your greatness, what is it worth, in comparison to that praise;
רְבוּתָא דְיַעְבֵּד לִי, כַּד מַטְיָא יְשׁוּעֲתָא:	The greatness that He will do for me, when the salvation arrives!
בְּמֵיתֵי לִי נְהוֹרָא, וְתַחֲפֵי לְכוֹן בַּהֲתָא,	When He brings me light, whereas you will be covered in shame;
יְקָרֵיהּ כַּד אִתְגְּלֵי, בְּתוּקְפָא וּבִגְבוּרְתָא:	When His Glory is revealed with power and might.
יְשַׁלֵּם גְּמֻלַּיָּא, לְסַנְאֵי וְנַגְוָתָא,	He will exact payback upon the enemies and the isles;
צִדְקָתָא לְעַם חֲבִיב, וְסַגְּיָא זַכְוָתָא:	But righteousness to the beloved nation, and abundant merits.
חֲדוּ שְׁלֵמָא בְּמֵיתֵי, וּמָנֵי דַכְוָתָא,	When He brings complete happiness, and the pure vessels;
קִרְיְתָא דִירוּשְׁלֵם, כַּד יְכַנֵּשׁ גַּלְוָתָא:	To the city of Jerusalem, when He will gather the exiles.
יְקָרֵיהּ מַטִּיל עֲלַהּ, בְּיוֹמֵי וְלֵילְוָתָא,	His glory will give shade over it by days and by nights;
גְּנוּנֵיהּ לְמֶעְבַּד בַּהּ, בְּתוּשְׁבְּחָן כְּלִילָתָא:	His canopy to make therein, as praiseworthy crowns.
דְּזֵיהוֹר עֲנָנַיָּא, לְמִשְׁפַּר כִּילָתָא,	Of brilliant clouds, to beautify the canopies;
לְפוּמֵיהּ דַּעֲבִידְתָּא, עֲבִידָן מְטַלַּלְתָּא:	In accordance with one's deeds, the Sukkos are set up.
בְּתַכְתַּקֵי דְהַב פִּיזָא, וּשְׁבַע מַעֲלָתָא,	Upon armchairs of fine gold, and in seven levels
תְּחִימִין צַדִּיקֵי, קֳדָם רַב פָּעֳלָתָא:	Are the righteous arranged before He of Great Deeds.
וְרֵיוֵיהוֹן דָּמֵי, לְשָׂבְעָא חֶדְוָתָא,	And their appearance resembles one satiated with happiness;
רְקִיעָא בְּזֵיהוֹרֵיהּ, וְכוֹכְבֵי זִיוָתָא:	The firmament in its brilliance and the shining stars.
הֲדָרָא דְּלָא אֶפְשַׁר, לְמִפְרַט בִּשִׂפְוָתָא,	A splendor that is impossible to express with the lips;
וְלָא אִשְׁתְּמַע וְחָמֵי, נְבִיאָן חֶזְוָתָא:	Nor was it ever heard or seen in the prophets' visions.
בְּלָא שָׁלְטָא בֵיהּ עֵין, בְּגוֹ עֵדֶן גִּנְּתָא,	That no eye has ever beheld, inside the Garden of Eden;
מְטַיְּילֵי בֵיהּ חִנְּגָא, לְבַהֲדֵי דִשְׁכִינְתָּא:	They walk in a circle-dance, together with the Divine Presence.
עֲלֵיהּ רָמְזֵי דֵּין הוּא, בְּרַם בְּאֶמְתָּנוּתָא,	To Him they indicate "This is He!" - albeit with fear;
שַׂבַּרְנָא לֵיהּ בְּשִׁבְיָן, תְּקוֹף הֵמָנוּתָא:	"We hoped unto him in our captivity, with mighty faith!"
יַדְבַּר לָן עָלְמִין, עֲלֵמִין מְדַמּוּתָא,	May He lead us forever, like youthfulness;
מְנָת דִּילָן דְּמִלְּקַדְמִין, פָּרֵשׁ בַּאֲרָמוּתָא:	To our portion from ancient times set aside as Terumah.
טְלוּלָא דְלִוְיָתָן, וְתוֹר טוּר רָמוּתָא,	The sport of the Livyasan and the bull of lofty mountains;
וְחַד בְּחַד כִּי סָבִיךְ, וְעָבֵד קְרָבוּתָא:	One with the other they become entangled and do battle.
בְּקַרְנוֹהִי מְנַגַּח בְּהֵמוֹת, בְּרַבְרְבוּתָא,	With its horns the beast gores powerfully;
יְקַרְטַע נוּן לְקִבְלֵהּ, בְּצִיצוֹי בִּגְבוּרְתָּא:	The fish leaps towards it, with its scales, with might.
מְקָרֵב לֵיה בָּרְיֵהּ, בְּחַרְבֵּיהּ רַבְרְבוּתָא,	Its creator approaches it, with His powerful sword;
אֲרִסְטוֹן לְצַדִּיקֵי יְתַקֵּן, וְשֵׁרוּתָא:	A repast for the righteous He will prepare, and a meal.
מְסַחֲרִין עֲלֵי תַכֵּי, דְּכַדְכּוֹד וְגוּמַרְתָּא,	They recline by tables of precious stones;
נְגִידִין קָמֵיהוֹן, אֲפַרְסְמוֹן נַהֲרָתָא:	Flowing before them are rivers of balsam.
וּמִתְפַּנְּקִין וְרָווֹ, בְּכַסֵּי רְוָיָתָא,	And they delight and are satiated with overflowing cups;
חֲמַר מְרַת דְּמִבְּרֵאשִׁית, נְטִיר בֵּי נַעֲוָתָא:	Royal wine that since Creation was guarded in the vats.
זַכָּאִין כַּד שְׁמַעְתּוּן, שְׁבַח דָּא שִׁירָתָא,	O worthy ones, that you have now heard this song of praise;
קְבִיעִין כֵּן תֶּהֱווּן, בְּהַנְהוּ חֲבוּרָתָא:	So may you be placed in that company.
וְתִזְכּוּן דִּי תֵיתְבוּן, בְּעֵלָּא דָרָתָא,	And may you merit to sit in the highest row;
אֲרֵי תְצִיתוּן לְמִילָי, דְּנָפְקִין בְּהַדְרָתָא:	If you hearken unto my words; which will emerge in splendor!
מְרוֹמָם הוּא אֱ-לָהִין, בְּקַדְמָא וּבַתְרַיְתָא,	Exalted is G-d, in the beginning and at the end;
צְבִי וְאִתְרְעִי בָן, וּמְסַר לָן אוֹרַיְתָא:	He desired and found favor in us, and gave us the Torah!
