What is the significance of "E'eleh b'Samar"?

1.

Torah Temimah citing Sanhedrin 93a: Hashem said, I intended that Yisrael be full of Tzadikim (like a date tree is full of dates), but "Ochazah b'Sansinav" (He only has one branch, i.e. Chananyah, Misha'el and Azaryah).

2.

Rashi: Hashem says, I glorify Myself, among legions above, via you (Yisrael), and I am sanctified through you. You sanctify My name among the nations.

3.

Malbim (Melitzah): I will try to stop the Nefesh from leaving the body. Even though it is elevated and higher than me, I will hold its branches (this depicts the body invigorating itself with all its strength at the last moment to hold the Nefesh, lest it depart).

4.

Malbim (Mashal): I will strive with all my strength to ascend to your height.

2)

What is the meaning of "Ochazah b'Sansinav"?

1.

Rashi: I hold and cling to you. Sansinim are branches.

2.

Seforno: I intended to detach the branches and destroy them.

3.

Malbim (Melitzah): Refer to 7:9:1:3.

4.

Malbim (Mashal): Even though a date tree is smooth, and one who ascends is prone to fall, I will hold the branches lest I fall when I ascend. I.e. I will do all possible to attain your love.

3)

Why does he say "v'Yihyeh Na Shadayich k'Eshkolos"?

1.

Rashi: Now, make My words true, and do not be enticed [to go] after the nations. The good and Chachamim among you will stand in their Emunah to answer the words of the enticers, and the small among you will learn from them.

2.

Seforno: There is much good food in the clusters. So [Chachamim] will give nice fruits in matters of investigation.

3.

Malbim (Melitzah): I request that your breasts resemble vine clusters. (I explained (4:5) that the breasts of the Nefesh are the conducts of the powers of desire and anger - derivatives of power of arousal.) The clusters should be full of grapes and good wine. I.e. these powers should be aroused only for Devar Hashem, His Mitzvos, Torah and Chukim, to do Mitzvos and good deeds. The Zohar says, a cluster is one, and many grapes 1 hang from it. So a Mitzvah is one, and many grapes, peels and sprigs are tied to it.

4.

Malbim (Mashal): Your breasts should resemble vine clusters, that when one holds them, he [gets juice and ultimately] drinks wine.

How is "Re'ach Apech ka'Tapuchim"?

1.

Seforno: Your deeds are like apples - they have scent, and are food.

2.

Malbim (Melitzah): Investigative intellect, which is the face of the Nefesh, will be like apples, which have a good smell. I.e. he will understand Toras Hashem and His Chachmah.

3.

Malbim (Mashal): It should have a good smell, like apples.
