(a)

If a Nazir became Safek Tamei in Reshus ha'Yachid, and it is not Pesach, R. Hoshayah Rabah says, the Nazir shaves (for he is considered Vadai Tamei);

(R. Yochanan): The Nazir does not shave, for we learned 'any Tum'as Mes for which a Nazir shaves, one is liable for it for Bi'as Mikdash. Any Tum'as Mes for which a Nazir does not shave, one is not liable for it for Bi'as Mikdash' (and one is not liable for Safek Tum'ah in Reshus ha'Yachid).

If an individual became Safek Tamei in Reshus ha'Yachid at [the time to offer Korban] Pesach, R. Hoshayah says, he is pushed off to Pesach Sheni (he is considered Vadai Tamei);

(R. Yochanan): We send him Derech Rechokah (far away, to exempt him, for he is considered Safek Tamei);

This is like R. Yochanan taught, if he became Tamei through Beis ha'Peras, [since it is only mid'Rabanan] we send him Derech Rechokah.

If a Tzibur (i.e. the majority) became Safek Tamei in Reshus ha'Yachid at Pesach, R. Yochanan says, they offer Pesach amidst their Safek. (They strive to offer it b'Taharah. Even if they are really Tamei, they may offer and eat Pesach.)

R. Hoshayah says, they offer it b'Tum'ah.

Even R. Hoshayah Rabah agrees that they offer amidst their Safek. R. Hoshayah said only to be stringent (there is no Pesach Sheni).

(R. Yochanan citing R. Beniyah): A Yisrael Arel, we sprinkle [Mei Chatas] on him, for we find that our fathers in the Midbar received Haza'ah when they were Arelim (before offering Pesach in Gilgal, just after entering Eretz Yisrael.

(Rav Chisda): This is like the opinion that they circumcised on the 11th [of Nisan]. However, according to the opinion that they circumcised on the 10th, we need not say that Arelim received Haza'ah. (Perhaps the first Haza'ah was on the 10th, after Milah, and the latter was on Erev Pesach!)

(R. Avin): In any case (no matter which day they circumcised), we need not say that Arelim received Haza'ah. (He holds that they brought Pesach b'Tum'ah.)

(R. Elazar citing R. Chaninah): A case occurred in which a Kohen Arel received Haza'ah, and [they ruled that] his Haza'os were Kosher.
