Why does it say "va'Titen Lahem Mamlachos"? It already said that He fulfilled His Bris to give to them the seven Kena'ani nations (8)!
Malbim: These words refer to Eretz Sichon and Og, which were not promised to the Avos.
What do we learn from "[va'Tachlekem] l'Fe'ah"?
Rashi: You made Yisrael to be like in a corner, separated, not to mix with other nations.
Ibn Ezra: It refers to the nations. You spread them to the corners - they fled from Yisrael.
Malbim: You separated from Yisrael two and a half Shevatim for Pe'ah on one side, in Ever ha'Yarden 1 .
How is this a praise of Hashem? Bnei Gad and Bnei Reuven received there only because they requested this! Perhaps it is attributed to Hashem, for He did not veto it. However, was it preferable that they inherit Eretz Sichon and Og on the side, and not amidst the other Shevatim? (PF)
