What do we learn from "v'Al Sichlo v'Hitzli'ach Mirmah b'Yado"?
Rashi: Because he succeeds in all his endeavors, this will strengthen his guile.
Malbim: He will do everything with his intellect and strategies, and not via Nevu'ah or Ru'ach ha'Kodesh. He will attribute the wonders to his intellect, and get haughty ? "uvi'Lvavo Yagdil."
What is the meaning of "uv'Shlavah Yashchis Rabim"?
Rashi: With guile and flattery he will destroy many who dwell with him amidst a Bris and Shalom.
Malbim: He will fight only with his mouth, and destroy all who rise against him and are not submissive to his commands.
What is the meaning of "v'Al Sar Sarim Ya'amod"?
Rashi: He will speak harshly to Hashem. This is the Perush of the dream "v'Ad Sar ha'Tzava Higdil" (11).
Malbim: For many days he will stand above the Sarim.
Why does it say "uv'Efes Yad Yishaver"?
Rashi: He will be broken without strength, via a mosquito, the weakest creation. It entered his nose (and pecked at his brain until he died ? Gitin 56b).
Ibn Ezra: It is known that Antiyochus fell from the roof, and was broken and died.
Malbim: Afterwards, his strength will finish, and his kingship will be broken. This is said briefly, for the previous vision already explained it.
