Ibn Ezra: These are [rows of rocks,] like "mi'Tachas ha'Tiros" (Yechezkel 46:23) - the Targum is mil'Ra l'Nidbachaya.

What is "Even Glal"?

Rashi: It is marble.

Ibn Ezra (5:8): Rocks that must rolled due to their weight (they are too heavy to carry).

What is "Nidbach"?

Rashi: It is a wall of new wood inside 1 , like in Shlomo's Mikdash. Ibn Ezra - also in Shlomo's Bayis there were three rows of rocks and one of cedar wood.

Malbim: Chazal said, this was so if they rebel, the kingdom will be able to burn the Bayis. Also this shows that they are not rebelling!
