Did Eitam have more than one father?!

1.

Radak: No - the verse teaches that these were sons of Shoval and Chur, the father of Eitam and Yizre'el.

2.

Malbim #1: "Eleh" does not mean these - it is a man's name. He was a son of Re'ayah. Those listed in this verse were from a different wife of Re'ayah.

3.

Malbim #2: "Eleh Vnei Chur" (the coming verse) refers also to those in our verse.

2)

Why does it mention their sister ha'Tzlelponi, and above (3:19) their sister Shelomis?

1.

Radak #1: Perhaps they had no other siblings, so they were mentioned.

2.

Radak #2: They were esteemed women, like Serach bas Asher. Malbim - Chazal said that she was Shimshon's mother. This is why it says that Shimon came from Shevet Dan and Shevet Yehudah (Bamidbar Rabah 10). I brought above (2:54) from Radak that Tzar'ah and Eshta'ol were in Yehudah's portion. This is why Hashem aroused him there, for his mother's brothers lived there. Shimshon's father Mano'ach took a wife from there when Bnei Dan camped there [on their way to capture additional land 1 ].

Rashi (Shofetim 18:1, from Seder Olam) says that Bnei Dan captured Layish at the beginning of the Shoftim. (Can it be that he married her then, and she gave birth to Shimshon 350 years later? Bamidbar Rabah 10:5 says that she and Mano'ach argued about who is sterile. He should have married other wives - this would clarify his status! - PF) Radak (ibid.) says that it was after Shimshon died. Malbim did not mention a third opinion there! (PF)
