Why does the Torah switch from Vayis'u me'Eisam" (plural) to "Vayashav al-Pi ha'Chiros" (singular)?

R. Bachye: Perhaps it refers to the Cloud (that led Yisrael in the desert).

Ba'al ha'Turim: To teach us that, although they were now traveling back towards Egypt, they had complete faith in Moshe, and followed his instructions as one man with one heart. 1
