Ibn Ezra: Tradition teaches that they repented before their time to be eradicated.

Malbim (Yirmeyah 16:3): Eradication was decreed on the fathers [of Anasos] wherever they will be. On minor children it was decreed only on those born "in this land" (Anasos), but not on those born in other cities. Here it counts people born from Anshei Anasos in other cities.
