Why was this in Yaravam's 18th year? Yaravam became king the same year as Rechav'am, and Rechav'am ruled for 17 years. Did Aviyah delay a year before he became king?!

Radak: Perhaps Rechav'am entered his 18th year, but it is not counted towards his reign because he did not complete it.
