Why are Bnei Cham v'Yefes taught? The Sefer should give the lineage of Avraham and David, and omit what is secondary!
'Rashi' (4): This is the style of Divrei ha'Yamim - first it gives the lineage of the secondary, and afterwards the primary. Also below, it teaches the descendants of Yishmael and Esav before those of Yitzchak and Yakov!
Why are Bnei Yefes and Bnei Cham taught before Bnei Shem?
Radak, Malbim: The Sefer left Bnei Shem for last, for it will elaborate about them.
Why are Bnei Yefes taught before Bnei Cham?
Radak: Surely Cham was older - the Torah always says Shem Cham v'Yefes! Even though Shem is called "Achi Yefes ha'Gadol 1 ", that does not refer to age, rather, his level. It teaches Bnei Yefes first, for he was more esteemed than Cham.
Malbim: Yefes was older and more esteemed than Cham.
This implies that only Shem was older than Yefes. (PF)
