DAF DISCUSSIONS - PESACHIM 55

Sholem asks:

The Gemorah says that if the craftsman has nothing to eat the owner must pay his wages. Otherwise there appears that there is no chiyuv at that point to pay the worker.

What happened to the obligations of beyoimo titen sechoroi and the issur of lo sollin?

Sholem, UK

The Kollel replies:

Sholom Rav.

The Din of "be'Yomo Titen Secharo" and "Lo Salin" are confined to a day laborer.

They do not apply to a Kablan, whom one hires to perform a fixed task - He only gets paid when he finishes the task or when he returns the finished article.
