What is the meaning of "Ki Chalah l'Tov Yosheves Maros"?
Rashi: The one who dwelled in serenity and hoped for good, rebelled against the Nevi'im's words.
Radak: "Chalah" is Chil (fear) and pain. The lamentation teaches that they received the opposite of what they hoped for. She dwells bitter and pained due to the good that she had.
Malbim: This explains why Yoshevei Tza'anan did not leave, and on whom they trusted. It rebelled, and did not want to be handed over to the enemy. It hoped for good, that troops will come from Yerushalayim to help it. Therefore it rebelled and did not open the wall.
What do we learn from "Ki Yarad Ra"?
Rashi: Here, "Ki" means Ela (rather). She hoped for good, but due to her rebellion, evil descended to her.
Radak: Evil descended to the gates of Yerushalayim ? "Ad Sha'ar Ami Ad Yerushalayim" (9).
Malbim: This is why there was a eulogy among them, and they were not saved ? because evil descended from Hashem to Sha'arei Yerushalayim. Via Hashgachas Hashem, evil came to Yerushalayim and they could not send troops to help Bnei Tza'anan.
Why does it add "me'Es Hashem"?
Radak: The evil that comes upon them is not chance ? it is punishment for their sin.
