(a)

Question: It says "Temei'im Hem Lachem'' (about the Tamei animals). Why does it say [also] "u'Temei'im Yihyu Lachem''?

Answer: This forbids eating, and also Hana'ah (i.e. doing business with them. What the Torah forbids eating it, one may not do business with it.) Whatever is forbidden mid'Rabanan, one may do business with it.

Question: A donkey [is forbidden mid'Oraisa, and we do business with them]!

Answer: One raises it for its work. (We forbid only what people raise to eat them, e.g. pigs.)
