After the Mishnah tells us that one may retreive his own lost object before dealing with those of his father or Rebbi, the Gemara asks "How do we know that?". Rashi comments "that his comes first".
Why does Rashi find it necessary to tell us which case the Gemara is referring to? Isn't it obvious?
Thank you for you help! hatzlacha rabba!

Shalom Rav,
Here are two possible answers to your question. The first heading in the Gemara is "Aviv v'Rabo Nos'in Masuy."
1. There is no indication as to which of the Mishnah's four or five previous statements the question "Mina Hani Mili" refers. So Rashi points out that it refers to the first two cases.
2. Because the question and answer pertains to both the first and the second cases, Rashi merely explains that the Gemara is covering two points in one.
