IF THE MONEY AND ASHAM WERE GIVEN TO DIFFERENT MISHMAROS (Yerushalmi Perek 9 Halachah 10 Daf 41b)

(Mishnah): If he gave the money to Yehoyariv (a particular division of Kohanim), and the Asham to Yedayah (the division that serves after Yehoyariv), he was Yotzei;

(b)

(Gemara - R. Chizkiyah): [A Tosefta (10:18) teaches that if he gave the money to Yehoyariv, and the Asham to Yedayah, he was Yotzei. If he gave the Asham to Yehoyariv, and the money to Yedayah, the money reverts to the division that received the Asham. R. Yehudah says so. Chachamim say, the Asham reverts to the division that received the money. Rebbi says, according to R. Yehudah, if Yehoyariv offered the Asham, he was not Yotzei. Only if the Asham is still around, the money returns from Yedayah to Yehoyariv, and Yehoyariv offers the Asham and he gets Kaparah. If the Mishmar of Yehoyariv passed, the Asham returns from Yehoyariv to Yedayah, and Yedayah offers the Asham and he gets Kaparah. R. Yehudah and Chachamim] argue about two weeks (this will be explained);

The one who says two weeks, if he gave the money to Yehoyariv during the Mishmar of Yehoyariv, and the Asham to Yedayah during the Mishmar of Yedayah, he was Yotzei;

1.

If he gave the Asham to Yehoyariv and the money to Yedayah, according to R. Yehudah, he takes the money from Yedayah to Yehoyariv, and Yehoyariv offer the Asham and atone.

Rebbi says, according to R. Yehudah, if Yehoyariv offered the Asham [before they received the money], it did not atone. (He brings another Asham to Yedayah, and they offer it. R. Chizkiyah and R. Yosi agree about this.)

1. Inference: If a Mishmar acquired a Korban during its week, and did not offer it [for a long time], we take it from them. (R. Chizkiyah and R. Yosi agree about this. The Mishnah is like Chachamim in the Tosefta, and the Yerushalmi explains only R. Yehudah. We explained this like MEICHAL HA'MAYIM.)
