DAF DISCUSSIONS - MENACHOS 100

Barry Epstein asked:

I thought the panim had to be on the Table continuously. But both Rava's and Mar Zutra's answer have it temporarily removed (either overnight or for a second). How can this be?

Barry Epstein, Dallas, USA

The Kollel replies:

"Tamid" is translated the same way as it is used for the "Korban Tamid," which does not mean every second, but rather every day.
