SUMMARY

1. There is a dispute about a person who bought two of the trees in his friend's field.

2. There is a similar dispute about whether the buyer (in the case in #1) reads the Parshah of Bikurim when he brings Bikurim from these trees.

3. Rav Yehudah: Rebbi Meir would say that even a person who buys fruits from the market should read the Parshah of Bikurim.

4. Rabah proves that Rav Yehudah's statement (#3) is incorrect.

5. There is a dispute about whether Ma'aser Rishon may also be given to a Kohen.

A BIT MORE

1. Tana Kama: He owns only the trees and no property in his friend's field. Rebbi Meir: He owns the ground beneath the trees.

2. Tana Kama: He does not read the Parshah of Bikurim, as he does not own the land, and therefore he cannot say "the fruit of the ground that You have given me," which is part of the Parshah of Bikurim. Rebbi Meir: He does own the land, and therefore he can say these words.

3. This is because he understands that "the fruit of the ground that You have given me" refers merely to the fact that Hashem gave the person money to buy fruit.

4. A Beraisa quotes Rebbi Meir who says that a person who buys only one tree does not read the Parshah of Bikurim. Certainly, then, a person who buys fruits from the market does not read the Parshah of Bikurim.

5. Rebbi Akiva: It may be given only to a Levi. Rebbi Elazar ben Azaryah: It may also be given to a Kohen.
