Perhaps per above it was OK to use bow and arrows to hunt birds without issue of טריפה.

Hi Daniel,
Thank You for this interesting connection, and if I understand you correctly, you want to say that according to Rebbi Yitzchak ben Pinchas, Eisav could hunt birds with his arrows, without worrying about the Shchita aspect.
I must say, I'm not sure I agree with you for a few reasons.
a. Even according to that Shita, he would have to shoot the birds in a way that would be considered 'Nechira' or 'Akiras Simanim', although it could very well be that Eisav, was a pr5offesional hunter, and he had this ability of shooting the birds in the right place.
b. It seems from the continuation of the story, that Rivka who heard Yitzchak talking to Eisav, understood thet he would like to eat a lamb (or even two of them), because if Yitzchak wanted birds, it would be suspicious of Yaakov brings lamb.
c. Last but not least, the same Rabeinu Bechaye, in the same Posuk (27:3) says the word ציד is written צידה, with an extra ה׳, to teach us that Yitzchak taught Eisav the חמישה דברים המעכבים את השחיטה. Seems like Rabeinu Bechaye himself, specifically says that Shchita was involved!
