 DAF DISCUSSIONS - ZEVACHIM 110
1. Joseph asks:

Hello, this section discuses the question of whether or not pouring water outside the temple is considered to be breaking the law of worshipping outside the temple. It mentions that there is controversy, being that the water libations are from sinai rather then directly from the torah. My question is if it was ever resolved or rather if it was left open as an unresolved argument.

Thanks

Joseph, United States

2. The Kollel replies:

Dear Joseph,

First of all, "from Sinai" also means from the Torah, only that it is not derived from the Torah's written words and is entirely passed on by mouth, "Ba'al Peh."

In the end, the Gemara explains that according to Rebbi Elazar, it is resolved that pouring is definitely breaking the law; whether it is learned from the written word or Ba'al Peh, there is still a Torah prohibition.

All the best,
