Why did Yissachar give a bribe to cut off his left hand instead of his right hand? Wouldn't he be disqualified from doing the avodah with a severed left hand because he would then be a ba'al mum? Thank you very much for your help, Avraham Sacks

2. The Kollel replies:

As I understand, the executioner was ordered to cut off his right hand and he paid him off to cut off the left one instead. Although his career as a Kohen Gadol was over either way, as a right-handed person his life would be less miserable with his left hand amputated and his right one in use.
