You are correct that according to Rav Chanan there are cases where one may sell large animals to a Nochri. I assume the questioner's point is that since the Gemara rejects Rav Chanan's view twice with strong objections (Tiyuvta), his position is set aside and carries no weight. I hope my assumption is correct, and I welcome comments to the contrary.
