SUMMARY

1. There is a similarity between Aharon, when he was waiting to serve in the Beis ha'Mikdash, and the Kohen Gadol before Yom Kippur.
 
2. Both the Kohen preparing to serve on Yom Kippur and the Kohen designated to burn the Parah Adumah underwent sprinkling with the Mei Chatas.
 
3. The Beraisa relates that Moshe Rabeinu was engulfed in a holy cloud when he received the Torah.
 
4. Rebbi Masya ben Cheiresh: Moshe Rabeinu felt alone when he received the Torah.
 
5. There is a dispute about exactly when Bnei Yisrael received the Torah.

A BIT MORE

1. Each waited seven days before performing one day of Avodah in the Beis ha'Mikdash. Additionally, during these seven days both learned the Avodos that they had to perform.
 
2. The Mei Chatas was sprinkled on them for seven days in order to ensure that they were not Tamei due to contact with the dead.
 
3. The Beraisa says that he went up into this cloud, was covered by this cloud, and was sanctified with this cloud in order to receive the Torah on behalf of Bnei Yisrael in a state of utmost holiness.
 
4. This sense enabled him to serve Hashem with the appropriate level of awe, and it enabled him to accept the Torah with the appropriate frame of mind.
 
5. Tana Kama: They received the Torah on the sixth of Sivan. Rebbi Yosi: They received the Torah on the seventh of Sivan.
