3. Rebbi Akiva maintains that the generation of the Great Flood will not have a share in the World to Come.

4. The generation of the Great Flood rebelled against Hashem as a result of all of the goodness that Hashem bestowed upon them.

5. The generation of the Great Flood transgressed many Aveiros, but the decree to annihilate them was only sealed as a result of theft.

6. Rebbi Yochanan maintains that Noach was a Tzadik only in comparison to the people of his generation. Reish Lakish disagrees.

7. All of the animals were wiped out in the Great Flood, with the exception of the fish.

8. The Great Flood was delayed seven days to allow for the period of mourning for Mesushelach.

A BIT MORE

1. Rebbi Akiva maintains that they will have no share in the World to Come and they will not be brought to justice. Rebbi Eliezer says they will have a share in the World to Come.

2. Rebbi Akiva maintains that they will never ascend, while Rebbi Eliezer disagrees.

3. Rebbi Yehudah ben Beseirah says they will not live in the World to Come and they will not be brought to justice. Rebbi Menachem bar Yosi learns that even when Hashem returns the Neshamos to the dead, the Neshamos of the generation of the Great Flood will be burned in Gehinom.

4. They said, "We do not even need Hashem for the rain, because we have sufficient water from the rivers and springs."

5. The Tana d'Vei Rebbi Yishmael maintains that the decree was sealed on Noach as well, but he found grace in the eyes of Hashem.

6. Reish Lakish says that had Noach lived in a different generation, he would have been an even greater Tzadik.

7. Hashem created the animals only for the purpose of man. Once man sinned, there was no longer any purpose for the animals.

8. This teaches that a eulogy for a Tzadik suppresses punishment.

9. Rebbi Chisda maintains that he passed the animals in front of the Teivah. The animals which did not interbreed were able to enter the Teivah. Rebbi Avahu maintains that the animals which did not sin came by themselves.

10. Three defied the prohibition against having relations in the Teivah: the dog, the raven, and Cham. All three were punished: the dog is tied up, the raven spits, and the skin of Kush, the son of Cham, changed in color.
