*********************GIRSA SECTION*********************

We recommend using the textual changes suggested by the Bach, the Tzon Kodashim and the marginal notes of the Vilna Shas. This section is devoted to any other important corrections that Acharonim have pointed out in the Gemara, Rashi and Tosfos.

[1] Gemara 5a [line 4]:

Should be corrected as suggested by Shitah Mekubetzes #2

[2] Gemara 5b [line 15]:

Should be corrected as suggested by Shitah Mekubetzes #3

*******************************************************

1)[line 1]äéúø æøé÷äHETER ZERIKAH- the point in time at which its blood was permitted to be cast on the Mizbe'ach; i.e. it had a proper Shechitah and Kabalah

2)[line 1]äéúø àëéìäHETER ACHILAH- the point in time at which its meat was permitted to be eaten; i.e. it had a proper Shechitah, Kabalah and Zerikah

3)[line 15]ãîä èòåï ëéáåñDAMAH TA'UN KIBUS (DAM CHATAS: KIBUS)

The blood of a [valid] Korban Chatas (specifically an animal Korban) that splattered on a garment from the utensil in which it was received (Kabalas ha'Dam) needs to be washed out with water in the Azarah as stated in Vayikra 6:20 (RAMBAM Hilchos Ma'aseh ha'Korbanos 8:1).

5b----------------------------------------5b

4)[line 1]ä''ð ìàå ãå÷àHACHI NAMI LAV DAVKA- that is, in our Mishnah, Kiblu Pesulim is not necessary; in the Mishnah that deals with the blood of a Chatas that stained clothes, Zarku Pesulim is not necessary

5)[line 3]äà ÷î''ì ãôñåì òåùä ùéøééíHA KA MASHMA LAN, D'PASUL OSEH SHIRAYIM- that is, Zerikah is mentioned in the Mishnah that deals with the blood of a Chatas, in order to teach us that since the Tamei performed even Zerikas ha'Dam, the remaining blood is permanently disqualified from further Zerikah. (Had he only performed Kabalas ha'Dam, the remaining blood would not have become disqualified, and a Kohen who is Tahor may receive more of the blood later and perform Zerikah.)

6)[line 8]äåàéì åîøöéï ìôéâåìïHO'IL U'MERATZIN L'FIGULAN- since the Zerikah causes the Pigul to take effect

7)[line 12]èîà ãàéúéä áöéáåøTAMEI D'ISEI B'TZIBUR (TUM'AH HUTRAH B'TZIBUR)

The Torah permits offering Korbenos Tzibur (communal sacrifices) b'Tum'ah. Therefore, Korbenos Temidim and the Musafim of Shabbos, Yom Tov and all other Korbanos and Menachos that are brought for the Tzibur, such as Minchas ha'Omer and the Shtei ha'Lechem, may be offered even if there is a need to offer them b'Tum'ah. (Regarding the argument whether Tum'ah is Hutrah b'Tzibur or Dechuyah b'Tzibur, see Background to Bava Kama 110: and to Zevachim 32:30.)
