A DOUGH THAT WAS ONCE EXEMPT (Yerushalmi Chalah Perek 3 Halachah 3 Daf 17a)

(a)

(Mishnah): If she was Makdish her dough before she kneaded it, and she redeemed it [and then kneaded it], it is obligated [in Chalah];

(b)

If she was Makdish it before she kneaded it, and the Gizbar kneaded it, and afterwards she redeemed it, it is exempt, for at the time of its [potential] Chiyuv it was exempt.

(c)

Similarly, if one was Makdish his Peros before they reached Onas (the development needed to be obligated in) ha'Ma'aseros, and he redeemed them [and then they reached Onas ha'Ma'aseros], they are obligated. [If he was Makdish them] after they reached Onas, and he redeemed them [before Miru'ach, and he did Miru'ach], they are obligated;

If he was Makdish [his Peros] before final processing, and the Gizbar did Miru'ach, and afterwards he redeemed them, they are exempt, for at the time of their [potential] Chiyuv they were was exempt.

(Gemara) Question: Why was [the Seifa] taught twice (also in Pe'ah 4:5)?

øáé çåðà øáé çééà øáé éäåùò áï ìåé áùí ø' ôãéä àçú ìîéøåç åàçú ìùìéù.

(f)

Answer (R. Chunah citing R. Chiya citing R. Yehoshua ben Levi citing R. Padiyah): One of them [came to teach about the Petur of Hekdesh at the time of] Miru'ach [of detached Peros, and Agav (along with this) it taught also about the Petur of Hekdesh when attached Peros reached a third growth, i.e. Onas ha'Ma'aseros], and one [came to teach] a third, [and Agav it taught also about Miru'ach. - TOLDOS YITZCHAK]

(g)

R. Yosi citing R. Ba and Talmidim [discussed this]. Talmidim said, one [came for] Miru'ach, and one [came for] a third;

øáé áà îôøù ìçìä ìîéøåç åôéàä ìùìéù.

(h)

R. Ba explained - [our Mishnah in] Chalah [came for] Miru'ach, and [the Mishnah in] Pe'ah [came for] a third.

åîúðéúà ãøáé ò÷éáä äéà ãøáé ò÷éáä àîø àçø ùìéù (äàçøåï) [ö''ì øàùåï - ôðé îùä, äâø''à] àú îäìê.

(i)

Our Mishnah [exempts if it reached a third when it was Hekdesh. It] is like R. Akiva, for R. Akiva said, I follow the first third;

ãàéúôìâåï ùãä ùäáéà' ùìéù ìôðé âåé åì÷çä éùøàì øáé ò÷éáä àåîø äúåñôåú ôèåø åçëîéí àåîøéí äúåñôåú çéé(å)á.

1.

[Tana'im] argued about this. If a field brought a third growth in front of a Nochri (while he owned it), and a Yisrael bought it, R. Akiva says, the added [growth after he bought it] is exempt [from Ma'aseros]. Chachamim say, the addition is obligated.

Question: What is the case [of our Mishnah]?

úéôúø àå [ö''ì áúåñôåú - äâø''à] ëøáé ò÷éáä áîçìå÷ú àå ëãáøé äëì á÷åöø îéã:

(k)

Answer: Either it discusses the addition, like R. Akiva, or it is like everyone, if he harvested immediately (there was no additional growth).
