(1) That is, it is Pasul if it is a Chatas, and it is kosher but does not count as fulfillment of one's promise to bring a Korban, if it is any other Korban. Another Korban must be brought in its place. This ruling also holds in a case where he thought, during the Shechitah, to do the Zerikah she'Lo Lishmah ("Mechashvin me'Avodah l'Avodah").
(2) This is the same as "she'Lo l'Menuyav," because the Menuyim on the Pesach are the Korban Pesach's owners (Rashi, 61a, DH k'Mi; however, Tosfos, DH v'Itkish, writes that "she'Lo l'Menuyav" is not considered a change in the Ba'alim).
(3) Rashi, 61a, DH Aval
(4) The same Halachah applies to any Shinuy Ba'alim.
(5) This is because the whole purpose of the Shechitah is for the sake of eating the Korban Pesach (Rashi, 61a, DH Aval), and is learned from the verse, "Tachosu Al ha'Seh" (Gemara there; Rashi, 61b, DH Ho'il).
(6) This is for the same reason as above, #5. If the Shechitah was done with intention to do the Zerikah to be Miskaper for Arelim or for a Zaken or Choleh, this is the topic of dispute between Rabah and Rav Chisda according to the Gemara's first explanation of their argument (61b). Rav Ashi concludes, in the second explanation of their argument, that they are *not* arguing in this point and according to everyone the Korban is Pasul. (This is the way Tosfos, 61a, DH Shechato, explains. However, Rashi and the Rambam hold that the argument between Rabah and Rav Chisda applies in a case when the animal is slaughtered with intention to do the Zerikah for *Arelim* only, and Rav Ashi concludes that everyone agrees that the Korban is Pasul in such a case. If the Korban is slaughtered for a Zaken or Choleh, everyone agrees that it is Kosher. See Insights 61:2.)
(7) That is, a Zaken or Choleh who are unable to eat a k'Zayis of meat. This category also includes those who are Tamei.
(8) This is what the Sugya seems to conclude according to Tosfos, 61a, DH Shechato. (However, according to Rashi and the Rambam, it is also a subject of dispute between Rabah and Rav Chisda if one performed Zerikah for the Korban to be eaten by *Arelim*, according to the first explanation of the Gemara (61b), as we explained in Insights 60:2. Rav Ashi concludes that it is Pasul according to everyone.)
(9) That is, the Korban was brought in order for it to be eaten by people who not only are not the owners of the Korban, they are not even fit to bring such a Korban ("Bar Kaparah") in their present state.
(10) This is the subject of dispute between Rabah and Rav Chisda, according to the Gemara's second explanation (62a). Rabah and Rav Chisda argue whether an Arel is a "Bar Kaparah" or not. If he is, then one's Machshavah for an Arel is a Machshavah she'Lo l'Ba'alav and the Korban is Pasul. If he is not a Bar Kaparah, then the Machshavah is meaningless and the Korban is Kosher. (According to Rashi and the Rambam, if one had in mind that the Korban was for Arelim Menuyim it is Pasul according to Rav Ashi, as mentioned above, #8. But if he had in mind that it was for Arelim who were *not* Menuyim, then it is Kosher. This, though, seems counter-intuitive, as Tosfos (62a, DH Hai, in the end of his words) points out.)
(11) In Insights to 62:1 we discussed what type of Arel the Gemara is referring to.
