SUMMARY

1. One who vows to bring an Olah in the Beis ha'Mikdash does not fulfill his obligation if he brings it in Beis Chonyo.

2. One who vows to bring an Olah in Beis Chonyo must bring it in the Beis ha'Mikdash, but if he brings it in Beis Chonyo he fulfills his obligation.

3. One who vows to be a Nazir and to bring his Korbanos in Beis Chonyo must bring his Korbanos in the Beis ha'Mikdash, but if he brings them in Beis Chonyo he fulfills his obligation.

4. If a Kohen performed the "Avodah" in Beis Chonyo, he is disqualified from doing the Avodah in the Beis ha'Mikdash, even if he did Teshuvah.

5. If a Kohen slaughtered an animal to an Avodah Zarah, he may perform the Avodah in the Beis ha'Mikdash if he repents, according to Rav Nachman. Rav Sheshes disagrees.

6. If a Kohen unintentionally (b'Shogeg) performed Zerikas ha'Dam with the blood of a sacrifice to an Avodah Zarah, he may perform the Avodah in the Beis ha'Mikdash, according to Rav Nachman. Rav Sheshes disagrees.

7. A Kohen who bowed down to an Avodah Zarah, or acknowledged the divinity of an Avodah Zarah, may perform the Avodah in the Beis ha'Mikdash, according to Rav Nachman. Rav Sheshes disagrees.

8. There is a disagreement about whether Beis Chonyo was built for the sake of Avodah Zarah or for the sake of Shamayim.

A BIT MORE

1. Beis Chonyo was a Mizbe'ach built in Egypt by Chonyo, the son of Shimon ha'Tzadik.

2. According to Rav Hamnuna, since he vowed to bring the Korban is Beis Chonyo it is as if he said, "I am not liable to replace the Korban." Consequently, although the Korban has Kedushah and he is Chayav Kares for Shechutei Chutz if he slaughters it in Beis Chonyo, he is exempt from bringing another Korban. According to Rava, the Korban does not have Kedushah, and he is not Chayav Kares for Shechutei Chutz, because it was implicit in his vow that he was Makdish the animal only if it would be feasible for him to bring the Korban to the Beis ha'Mikdash, and in the event that he would be unable to go to the Beis ha'Mikdash the animal would have no Kedushah.

3. Rav Hamnuna agrees with Rava in this case, because it is implicit in the words of the vow that he accepts upon himself to be a Nazir only if it is feasible for him to go to the Beis ha'Mikdash; otherwise, he is not a Nazir.

4. This is true even according to the opinion that Beis Chonyo was not built for the sake of Avodah Zarah. Since it is forbidden to bring a Korban outside the Beis ha'Mikdash, a Kohen who does Avodah in Beis Chonyo becomes disqualified from doing the Avodah in the Beis ha'Mikdash.

5. According to Rav Nachman, Shechitah is not considered an Avodah because even a non-Kohen can perform the Shechitah of a Korban in the Beis ha'Mikdash. Therefore, a Kohen who slaughters an animal to an Avodah Zarah is not disqualified from performing the Avodah.

6. However, all agree that if he performed the Zerikah intentionally (b'Mezid), he is disqualified forever from performing the Avodah in the Beis ha'Mikdash, even if he repents.

7. However, Rav Nachman agrees that he may perform the Avodah in the Beis ha'Mikdash only after he repents.

8. According to Rebbi Meir, Beis Chonyo was built for the sake of Avodah Zarah. According to Rebbi Yehudah, it was built l'Shem Shamayim.
