MENACHOS 11 (10 Elul) - This Daf has been dedicated in honor of the Yahrzeit of Sheina Basha (daughter of Yakov and Dora) Zuckerman, who passed away on 10 Elul, by her children and sons in law.

SUMMARY

1. If, in the flour of the Kometz, there was a pebble, grain of salt, or grain of Levonah, the Kemitzah is Pasul.

2. Kemitzah is performed with the three middle fingers of the Kohen.

3. The three middle fingers are folded into the palm of the hand for the Kemitzah. This is one of the most difficult Avodos in the Beis ha'Mikdash.

4. The Kemitzah is done by inserting the side of the hand into the flour of the Minchah.

5. If the Kometz is stuck against the side of the Kli, there is a doubt about whether it is valid.

6. If the Kli is turned over and the Kometz placed into a receptacle at the bottom of the Kli, there is a doubt about whether it is valid.

7. If more than a Log of oil is placed in a Minchah, it is Pasul, even if the oil was designated for the Minchah.

8. One Kometz of Levonah is placed in a Minchah. If it is missing even a small amount, it is Pasul, according to Rebbi Meir.

9. According to Rebbi Yehudah, even if some of the Levonah is missing, as long as at least two pieces of Levonah remain it is valid. According to Rebbi Shimon, if even one piece of Levonah remains it is valid.

10. If one brings Levonah as a Nedavah without a Minchah, there is a disagreement about whether it is Pasul if it is missing a small amount of the Kometz.

11. If an extra Kometz of Levonah was added to a Minchah, or an extra two Komtzim were added to the Bazichin of the Lechem ha'Panim, it is Pasul.

12. If the Kohen performs the Kemitzah of a Minchah with intent to eat at least an olive's size of the Shirayim, or to burn at least an olive's size of the Kometz, or to burn the Levonah outside the Azarah the Minchah is Pasul.

13. If the Kohen performs the Kemitzah of a Minchah with intent to eat at least an olive's size of the Shirayim, or to burn at least an olive's size of the Kometz, or to burn the Levonah the next day the Minchah is Pigul.

A BIT MORE

1. This is because the Kometz is lacking flour in the place of the pebble, salt, or rock.

2. For a Minchas Machavas and Minchas Marcheshes, the thumb and pinky fingers are used to rub off the flour of the Kemitzah if it protrudes beyond the sides of the three middle fingers.

3. The Kemitzah is a very difficult Avodah because of the difficulty in ensuring that the exact amount is taken.

4. If the Kemitzah is done differently, such as by inserting the tips of the fingers into the Minchah or by pushing the back of the hand into the Minchah, there is a doubt about whether it is valid.

5. When the Kometz is placed into a Kli after the Kemitzah, there is a doubt about whether it is sufficient for the Kometz to be inside the Kli or whether it must be resting on the bottom of the Kli.

6. The doubt is whether the Kometz must be placed into the Kli in a normal manner.

7. If oil of Chulin or of another Minchah is placed in a Minchah, it is Pasul. Even if the owner designated two Lugin of oil for his Minchah, if they are placed into the Minchah it is Pasul.

8. The entire Kometz of Levonah must be in existence at the time of the Haktarah of the Levonah, according to Rebbi Meir.

9. However, everyone agrees that l'Chatchilah a Kometz of Levonah must be brought with the Minchah.

10. However, the Levonah in the Bazichin, brought with the Lechem ha'Panim, must be no less than two Komtzim.

11. However, if one Kometz of Levonah was lost before the Kemitzah of the Minchah, or two Komtzim of Levonah were lost before the Bazichin were removed from the Shulchan, it is valid.

12. There is no Chiyuv Kares for eating the Minchah.
