SUMMARY
1. Two partial beams can combine to make one whole, valid Korah.
2. The Gemara discusses the size of the special pool made by Shlomo ha'Melech, and the amount of water that it held.
3. The Mishnah discusses the criteria for the size of a proper Lechi that permits carrying in a Mavoy.

A BIT MORE
1. If one beam starts from wall A and does not reach wall B, and another beam starts from wall B and does not reach wall A, they combine to form a valid Korah for the Mavoy, provided that they are less than three (Tana Kama) or four (Raban Shimon) Tefachim from each other.
2. This pool was used for the Tevilah of the Kohanim before they performed the Avodah in the Beis ha'Mikdash.
3. Although everyone agrees that a Lechi must be ten Tefachim tall, there is a dispute about whether it may be of minimal thickness or whether it must be at least three Tefachim thick.
4. This is because the Halachic partition that it creates is considered a partition through which goats can walk, and thus the Lechi is invalid.
5. In one case, after Rav Chanan learned about an argument regarding what blessing to make on water when one is thirsty, he asked Abaye for the proper ruling. Abaye told him to go see what the people actually do and act accordingly.
