SUMMARY

1. If the blood of a Chatas ha'Of was sprinkled on the lower part of the Mizbe'ach, but the remaining blood was not pressed onto the Mizbe'ach, it is valid.

2. The remaining blood of a Korban Chatas which is offered on the outer Mizbe'ach is spilled on the Yesod at the southwestern corner of the Mizbe'ach.

3. When there is no room on the eastern side of the Mizbe'ach, the Nisuch of wine, Nisuch of water, and the Avodos of an Olas ha'Of are done on the upper part of the southwestern corner of the Mizbe'ach.

4. The Terumas ha'Deshen is placed to the east of the ramp of the Mizbe'ach, 22 Amos south of the Mizbe'ach, and three Tefachim away from the ramp.

5. When the Kohen who performs the Nisuch of wine, Nisuch of water, and the Avodos of an Olas ha'Of reaches the top of the Mizbe'ach, he turns to his left and goes directly to the southwestern corner. He returns the way he came.

6. When a Kohen Gadol performs the Haktarah and Nisuch as part of the Avodos of an Olah, he circles the Mizbe'ach to do the Nisuch of the wine. Upon reaching the southwestern corner, he is handed the wine and he is Menasech it.

7. The Melikah of a Chatas ha'Of is done at the back of the neck. The head should not be separated from the body.

8. After the Melikah of a Chatas ha'Of, the Kohen grasps the head and body of the bird. He sprinkles the bird's blood on the lower part of the Mizbe'ach.

9. The Kohen does the Melikah on an Olas ha'Of from the back of the neck. He severs the head completely. He presses the blood from the head and body of the bird onto the Mizbe'ach. He then covers the head with salt and throws it in the fire.

10. The Kohen removes the crop and feathers together with the innards, and he throws them to the Beis ha'Deshen. He then splits the bird without dividing it, covers it with salt, and throws it into the fire.

11. If one of the Avodos of a Chatas ha'Of was done she'Lo Lishmah, or both Lishmah and she'Lo Lishmah, it is Pasul. If one of the Avodos of an Olas ha'Of was done she'Lo Lishmah, it is valid.

12. If one of the Avodos of a Chatas ha'Of or Olas ha'Of was done with intent to eat the Chatas or burn the Olah on the Mizbe'ach after the allotted time, it is Pigul.

A BIT MORE

1. Failure to press out the remaining blood of a Chatas ha'Of does not affect the validity of the Korban, as long as Haza'ah, sprinkling of the blood, was done.

2. The law of a Korban Chatas which is offered on the outer Mizbe'ach is learned from the law of a Korban Chatas which is offered on the inner Mizbe'ach. Just as the blood of an inner Chatas is spilled on the part of the Yesod which is closest to the Kohen when he exits the Heichal, the remaining blood of an outer Chatas is spilled on the closest part of the Yesod when he descends from the ramp of the Mizbe'ach, which is the southwestern corner of the Mizbe'ach.

3. The Avodah of an Olas ha'Of is done on the eastern side of the Mizbe'ach, because the crop and feathers of the Olah are thrown to the Beis ha'Deshen on the east of the ramp of the Mizbe'ach. If there is no room on the east of the Mizbe'ach, the Avodah of the Olas ha'Of is done on the southwestern corner of the Mizbe'ach, because that is closest to the Beis ha'Deshen.

4. The crop and feathers of an Olas ha'Of are thrown to the same place. f the Olas ha'Of is offered in the southeastern corner of the Mizbe'ach, the Kohen must throw the crop and feathers more than 30 Amos in order to reach the Beis ha'Deshen.

5. For all other Avodos, when the Kohen reaches the top of the Mizbe'ach, he turns to his right. Since the Nisuch of wine, Nisuch of water, and the Olas ha'Of are done on the southwestern corner of the Mizbe'ach, if the Kohen would turn to his right he would have to encircle the entire Mizbe'ach. During that long walk, the wine or the Olah might absorb the smoke of the Ma'arachah.

6. A Kohen Gadol may do all of the Avodos of a Korban if he chooses. If he is already on the Mizbe'ach in order to place the limbs of the Olah on the Ma'arachah, he circles the Mizbe'ach to the southwestern corner. When he arrives there, he is handed the wine for the Nisuch.

7. Only one of the Simanim in the neck of the bird should be cut.

8. Although a Chatas Behemah is sprinkled on the upper part of the Mizbe'ach, the Torah states that the remaining blood of a Chatas ha'Of is to drain to the Yesod. If the blood is sprinkled on the upper part of the Mizbe'ach above the Sovev, the blood will drain to the Sovev, not to the Yesod.

9. If the Kohen fails to sever the head or he presses the blood from the head onto the Mizbe'ach but not the blood from the body, it is Pasul. If he presses the blood from the body but not from the head, it is valid.

10. If the Kohen divides the bird when he splits it, if he does not remove the crop and feathers, or if he does not cover it with salt, it is still valid.

11. However, if an Olas ha'Of was offered she'Lo Lishmah, the owner of the Korban does not fulfill his obligation and he must bring another bird as an Olah.

12. However, it is Pigul only if the other Avodah was done also with a Machshavas Pigul, or it was done without any invalidating Machshavah at all. If it was done with a Machshavah to eat or burn the Korban outside the allotted place, the Korban is Pasul but not Pigul.
