SUMMARY

1. A woman made a Neder that she will bring a Kan with a specific type of bird, together with her Olas Chov, when she gives birth to a male child. She then forgot which type of bird she specified. If the Kohen brought half of the birds on the upper part of the Mizbe'ach and half on the lower part of the Mizbe'ach, she must bring additional birds. If all of the birds were of the same type, she must bring five more birds as an Olah. If the birds were of different types, she must bring six birds as an Olah.
 
2. The woman who made the Neder gave the Kohen two Kanim, one for her Neder and one for her Chov. It is not known which types of birds she gave to the Kohen. It is also not known whether the Kohen brought all of them on the upper part of the Mizbe'ach, all of them on the lower part of the Mizbe'ach, or half on the upper part and half on the lower part. She must bring six more birds as an Olah and one more bird as a Chatas, according to the Tana Kama.
 
3. Ben Azai says that she must bring eight more birds: six birds as an Olah and two birds as a Chatas.
 
4. Rebbi Yehoshua says that a living ram emits one sound, while the parts of a dead ram can produce seven sounds.
 
5. According to Rebbi Yehoshua, if an Olas ha'Of is brought like a Chatas ha'Of on the lower part of the Mizbe'ach, the owner does not fulfill his obligation to bring a Chatas ha'Of.
 
6. Rav says that if the Melikah of a bird was done with the left hand or at night, it is not Metamei as a Neveilah. If the Melikah was done by a non-Kohen or with a knife, the bird is Metamei as a Neveilah.
 
7. Rebbi Yochanan says that if the Melikah of a bird was done by a non-Kohen, it is not Metamei as a Neveilah.
 
8. If a non-Kohen performs the Shechitah of a Parah Adumah, it is Pasul.
 
9. A Korban which was taken out of the Azarah and subsequently placed on the Mizbe'ach is not taken down.

A BIT MORE

1. Since she made a Neder to bring a Kan together with her Olas Chov, and she does not know which type of bird she specified in her Neder, she must bring both Torim and Bnei Yonah together with her Olas Chov. Although she already brought two birds together with her Chov, one of those birds is Pasul since the Kohen brought one of them on the lower part of the Mizbe'ach. Even the one that was brought on the upper part of the Mizbe'ach must be brought again since she obligated herself to bring the three Olos together. If the Kohen brought two different types of birds and it is not known which type he brought first, she must bring six birds. The bird the Kohen brought first is for her Chov. Since it is not known which type was for her Chov, she must bring one Tor and also one Ben Yonah for her Chov. Since it also is not known which type of birds she must bring for her Neder, she must bring two Torim and two Bnei Yonah for her Neder. Altogether this equals six birds.
 
2. She made a Neder that she will bring a Kan together with her Olas Chov, and she does not know which type of bird she specified in her Neder. She does not fulfill her obligation at all with the Kanim that she gave the Kohen originally, since it is not known whether the Kohen brought the birds on the correct part of the Mizbe'ach. Therefore, she must now bring a Kan of both types of birds in order to fulfill her Neder. She also does not fulfill her obligation to bring her Olah and Chatas Chov, since they might not have been brought on the correct part of the Mizbe'ach. She must bring her Olah and Chatas again. She also must bring two birds for her Olah -- a Tor and a Ben Yonah -- because she must bring for her Olah the same type of bird that she brought for her Chatas. It is possible that the Kohen brought the birds on the lower part of the Mizbe'ach and she fulfilled her obligation to bring her Chatas. Since it is not known which type of bird the Kohen brought for her Chatas, she must bring both types for her Olah. She is obligated to bring only one type of bird for her Chatas because, according to the Tana Kama, whichever type of bird she brought for her Chatas obligates her to bring the same type for her Olah, but not vice versa.
 
3. According to Ben Azai, if her Olah was brought first, she must bring her Chatas from the same type of bird, and vice versa. Therefore, it is possible that the Kohen brought both birds on the upper part of the Mizbe'ach and she fulfilled her obligation to bring an Olah, but not her obligation to bring a Chatas. Since it is not known which type of birds the Kohen brought, she must bring one of each type of bird for her Chatas.
 
4. Two trumpets may be made from the horns of a dead ram, two flutes from its thighs, a drum from its hide, a lyre from its stomach, and a harp from its innards. In the case of the woman who made the Neder as well, if the woman had not yet brought any of the birds, even if she does not know which type of bird she specified she is obligated to bring only six birds altogether. However, now that she already brought four birds, she must bring another seven birds according to the Tana Kama, and eight according to Ben Azai.
 
5. However, it has the status of a Chatas ha'Of with regard to the Chiyuv Me'ilah, and thus there is no Chiyuv Me'ilah if someone benefits from it.
 
6. The left hand of the Kohen is used for an Avodah on Yom Kippur when he brings the Ketores into the Heichal. The Eimurim of a Korban may be placed on the Mizbe'ach at night. Consequently, if Melikah is done with the left hand or at night, although the bird is Pasul it is not Metamei as a Neveilah. However, if the Melikah is done by a non-Kohen or by any other person who is Pasul, such as an Onen or an Arel, the bird is Metamei as a Neveilah.
 
7. According to Rebbi Yochanan, a non-Kohen may do the Melikah on a bird that is brought as a Korban on a Bamah. Therefore, if he performs the Melikah in the Beis ha'Mikdash, the bird is not Metamei as a Neveilah, even though it is Pasul.
 
8. The Torah commands that the Shechitah of a Parah Adumah be done by Elazar ha'Kohen. The Torah adds the word "Chukah," which implies that if it is not done by a Kohen, it is Pasul.
 
9. Although it became Pasul with Yotzei, it is not removed from the Mizbe'ach once it was placed there since there is no Pesul Yotzei on a Bamah.
