SUMMARY

1. If a Kohen Pasul receives the blood of a Korban with intent to eat from the Korban after the allotted time, if there is more blood it shall be received by a valid Kohen, and the Korban is valid.

2. If a valid Kohen receives the blood of a Korban and he subsequently hands the blood to a Kohen Pasul, it shall be returned to the valid Kohen. If the Kohen receives the blood in his right hand and puts it in his left hand, it shall be returned to his right hand.

3. If the blood of a Korban spills from the utensil onto the floor, it may be scooped up and placed on the Mizbe'ach.

4. Everyone is eligible to slaughter a Korban, even a non-Kohen, a woman, and a servant.

5. A Tamei person may slaughter a Korban only b'Di'eved, because of the concern that he may come into contact with the flesh of the Korban and make it Tamei.

6. There is a disagreement about whether the one who performs Shechitah must stand in the Azarah during the Shechitah.

7. Reish Lakish says that if a Tamei person extends his hand into the Azarah, he is punished with Malkus.

8. A Metzora on his eighth day which falls on Erev Pesach, who saw Keri on that day and is a Tevul Yom, may enter Har ha'Bayis and extend his hands into the Azarah.

9. There is a disagreement about whether a Tevul Yom is forbidden Min ha'Torah from entering Har ha'Bayis.

A BIT MORE

1. The intention of a Kohen Pasul to eat from a Korban after the allotted time does not invalidate the Korban. Therefore, if a valid Kohen subsequently receives the blood, the Korban is valid.

2. If the blood is given to a Kohen Pasul or placed in the left hand, the Korban is not Pasul as long as it is returned to a valid Kohen, or into the right hand of the Kohen. Similarly, if the Kohen receives the blood of a Korban in a Kli Shares and subsequently places it in a non-sanctified utensil, it shall be returned to a Kli Shares.

3. However, if the blood spilled directly from the animal onto the floor, the Korban is Pasul.

4. A Kohen Pasul may perform the Shechitah, l'Chatchilah, of even Kodshei Kodashim.

5. A person who is Tamei must stand outside the Azarah and perform Shechitah using a long knife. However, a person who is Tamei Mes may not use a knife, because he will be Metamei the knife which will be Metamei the flesh of the Korban. Therefore, he must use a sharp reed to slaughter the animal.

6. According to the Tana Kama, the one who performs Shechitah may stand outside the Azarah and use a long knife. Shimon ha'Timni disagrees.

7. According to Reish Lakish, a partial entry into the Azarah is the same as a full entry. Rav Chisda disagrees and says that a partial entry is not the same as a full entry.

8. The Mitzvas Aseh to bring the Korban Pesach is an Aseh with a Chiyuv Kares, and thus it supersedes the prohibition for a Tevul Yom to enter Har ha'Bayis. The Metzora may enter in order to have the oil and blood of his Asham placed on his Behonos. Even according to Ula, who maintains that a partial entry into the Azarah is the same as a full entry, the Torah permits a partial entry into the Azarah even though the Metzora is a Mechusar Kipurim. Therefore, it is permitted even if he is also a Tevul Yom.

9. According to the opinion that a Tevul Yom of a Zav has the same Tum'ah status as a Zav, it is forbidden Min ha'Torah for a Tevul Yom to enter Har ha'Bayis. However, Rebbi Yochanan maintains that a Tevul Yom of a Zav is not like a Zav, and a Tevul Yom is prohibited only mid'Rabanan from entering the Azarah.
