A BIT MORE

MITZVAH OF TZITZIS
Avraham Avinu was given the Mitzvah of Tzitzis as a reward for saying 'If from a thread until shoelaces'. That seems to contradict the Midrash that says that Tzitzis was a reward for the Mitzvah that Shem did to cover his father. The Gur Aryeh answers that it was both the Mitzvah of Shem and the good deed of Avraham Avinu together that was rewarded with the Mitzvah of Tzitzis. The Mitzvah of Shem to cover his father was rewarded with a Talis of Mitzvah. However the Mitzvah of the Talis would not have necessarily included the Mitzvah of Tzitzis because the Mitzvah of Tzitzis does not have any relevance to the Mitzvah that Shem did to cover his father. Only because of the good deed of Avraham Avinu, of refusing to take even a thread from Sodom, were their descendants rewarded with threads of Tzitzis. However, from the good deed of Avraham Avinu alone they would not have been rewarded with a Talis of Mitzvah since the Mitzvah of Avraham Avinu is relevant only to threads not to a Talis. Only together with the Mitzvah of Shem of covering up his father were they rewarded with both a Talis of Mitzvah and the Tzitzis.
A Megilas Sotah that is written at night or written out of order is Pasul. If it was written prior to the Kabalas Shevu'ah it is Pasul. If it was written as an Igeres it is Pasul. (Rambam Hilchos Sotah 4:7,8 )
