SUMMARY

If someone says he will be a Nazir after 20 days and a Nazir from now, it is a Safek whether he should start counting the Nezirus right now.

If someone says he will be a Nazir after 20 days and a Nazir from now for a 100 days, it is a Safek whether he should start counting the 100 days right now. (1)

If someone says he will be a Nazir after 20 days and a Nazir Olam right now, it is a Safek whether he should start counting the Nezirus Olam right now. (2)

If someone says he will be a Nazir Shimshon after 20 days and a Nazir right now, it is a Safek whether he should start counting the Nezirus Shimshon right now. (3)

If someone says k'Moshe on the seventh of Adar it is a Safek whether he is a Nazir. (4)

If a person becomes Tamei during the Nezirus of his son while he is still in the middle of his own Nezirus according to Rebbi Yochanan he must recount all of the Nezirus.

Reish Lakish says that he only must recount the Nezirus of his son but not his own Nezirus.

If a person becomes a Metzora in the middle of his Nezirus and he becomes Tamei according to Rebbi Yochanan he must recount the Nezirus.

Reish Lakish says that he does not have to recount the Nezirus.

If a person becomes Tamei while he is growing his hair after he completed his Nezirus according to Rav he does not have to recount the Nezirus. (5)

Shmuel says that he does have to recount his Nezirus. (6)

According to Rabanan a Nazir who becomes Tamei after the Zerikas ha'Dam no longer may fulfill the Mitzvah of Gilu'ach. (7)

Rebbi Yosi Bar Rebbi Chanina says that a Nazir who completed his Nezirus is punished with Malkus if he becomes Tamei but not for drinking wine or shaving.

A BIT MORE

1. This question is based on the premise that the previous question is answered. Since the Nezirus is only 30 days he should not start the Nezirus right now because if he started right now he would only have 10 days left. However in this case if he starts the Nezirus right now he will have 80 days left.

2. This question is based on the premise that the previous question is answered. Since the two Neziruyos are the same type of Nezirus, one Nezirus is not a Hefsek for the other Nezirus and he should start the Nezirus right now. However Nezirus Olam is a different type of Nezirus and maybe a regular Nezirus is a Hefsek for Nezirus Olam.

3. This question is based on the premise that the previous question is answered. Since it is possible to be released from the Nezirus of after 20 days he shall start his Nezirus Olam right now. However one may not be released from Nezirus Shimshon and therefore maybe he shall not start the Nezirus right now.

4. Moshe Rabeinu was born and also died on the seventh of Adar, therefore it is a Safek whether he is referring to the day he was born which is a Simchah or the day that he died which is a day of mourning and in that case he is likely taking Nezirus upon himself.

5. If the hair of a Nazir is shaved during his Nezirus he must allow his hair to grow for thirty days before he brings his Korbanos. If he completed his Nezirus but he is waiting to bring his Korbanos until his hair grows for thirty days, if he becomes Tamei he does not have to recount the Nezirus according to Rav.

6. Even Reish Lakish who holds that a Nazir who becomes Tamei during the Nezirus of his son does not have to recount his Nezirus agrees that in this case he must recount because it is one Nezirus.

7. The Rabanan hold that once the Korbanos are brought a Nazir may drink wine even before he shaves. Therefore if he becomes Tamei before he shaves he does not have to bring the Korbanos again.

BRIEF INSIGHT

NEZIRUS IS THE MIDBAR

If someone says k'Moshe on the seventh of Adar it is a Safek whether he is a Nazir because maybe he is referring to the day that Moshe Rabeinu died which was a day of mourning and it is likely that many people became Nezirim that day. Tosfos asks how did those Nezirim at the time of the death of Moshe Rabeinu bring their Korbanos according to the opinion that Nedarim and Nedavos may not be brought on a Bamah. The Korbanos of a Nazir are regarded as Nedavos and therefore could not have been brought until Klal Yisrael came to Shilo! The Rashash answers that they could have brought their Korbanos in the Ohel Moed in the Mishkan because Klal Yisrael did not cross the Yarden until the tenth of Nisan. Even though a Nazir must bring Chalos and Rekikim which may not be brought from Chadash however the Isur of Chadash did not apply until they entered Eretz Yisrael.

QUICK HALACHAH

NAZIR OLAM

If someone says that he will be a Nazir after 20 days and a Nazir Olam right now the Nezirus [after 20 days] does not go into effect. (Rambam Hilchos Nezirus 4:7)

The Rambam holds like the possibility that since it is possible to be released from the Nezirus after 20 days the Nezirus Olam goes into effect and once it goes into effect it cannot be interrupted. (Kesef Mishneh)
