Barry Epstein asked:

The notes say that one fixes a scroll by suspending the missing letters in between the lines. Does this actually happen today? Do you know of a Sefer Torah that has that in it?

Barry Epstein, Dallas, USA

The Kollel replies:

Baruch Hash-m, today there are many competent Sofrim, and the financial resources in the hands of upright and G-d-fearing Jews is sufficient enough, that we need not rely on fixing in such a manner. However, if needed, the Halachah does apply.
