First, there is no direct connection between the story of Rachav and the earlier Gemara about the generations the Torah preceded the world, aside from the fact that they appear next to each other. In addition, the word ״פישתים״ needs to be written with two יו״ד, and in Tanach it is spelled usually with one.

In any case, I received from my teacher and rebbi, Rav Moshe Shapira zt"l, that Gematriyos are an important Remez, but they depend very much on who is saying them. When a Gematriya appears in Chazal, it has great value, because the point is not the number itself. Rather, the number expresses a deep connection between two ideas, and the numerical value is only a hint to that depth. We do not begin from the Remez. Once there is an established connection, the number reflects it.

In any case, allow me to add a few lines in good humor.

If "איש הישר בעיניו (974)" does as he wishes, one could also say that "בינה מלאכותית (974)" is, Chas v'Shalom, like the Torah. But we know that "לשקר אין רגלים (974)", and it is better that we fulfill ourselves "תחרישון (974)", since "אין מקרא יוצא מידי פשוטו (974)" and "מי בקש זאת מידכם (974)", and instead "סור מרע ועשה טוב (974)".
