I. Kinek asked:

If "A" pushes someone off a skyscraper and "B" stabs the person while he is falling, who is guilty of murder A or B?

I. Kinek, Baltimore,MD.

The Kollel replies:

As far as punishment in Beis Din, "A" is definitely Patur, for he did not actually kill him, and regarding "B" -- the Gemara says it depends on the Machlokes whether someone who delivers the last of ten blows is Chayav for quickening a death. The Halachah is that all are Patur. There are other cases where none of the murderers will get Misas Beis Din (although their slate is certainly not clean in Shamayim).
