DAF DISCUSSIONS - SHABBOS 61

Gavriel Debson asked:

The gemara on daf 61b disscusses whether a women can go into a bathroom with an amulet that contains a passuk. There are many girls nowadays who buy rings with passukim engraved on them with HaSHems name with in the passuk as a 'Hay' from this gemara can one say that a girl can go into the bathroom whilst still wearing this ring, or does she have to take it off?

Gavriel Debson, England

The Kollel replies:

In light of the Gemara that you quote, I don't see any Heter for someone to enter a bathroom wearing an open Pasuk, in any form or fashion.

Before telling anyone with certainty that it is forbidden however, one ought to consult a Posek.
