The Mishnah in Sukah (48b) states that they would specifically prepare the water on Erev Shabbos by putting it in a regular vessel, not a Kli Shares. The Gemara (49b-50a) gives different opinions as to why this was done. One opinion is that if the water would be put in a Kli Shares it would automatically become Pasul through Linah. This opinion holds it is not possible. The other two opinions state that this is due to a Gezeirah (see Gemara there at length).
