DAF DISCUSSIONS - BERACHOS 4

Shmuel Kohn asks:

Why do we not say Ashrei in Maariv?

Shmuel Kohn, Boynton Beach , Florida 3347

The Kollel replies:

Sholom Rav.

The reason that we recite 'Ahrei' before Minchah is because it is not considered proper to begin Davening with the Amidah, so we say'Ashrei' as a sort of introduction. There is therefore no reason to recite it before Ma'ariv.

Wishing you and yours a Chag Kasher ve'Same'ach.

Be'VIrchas Kol Tuv.
