What is the meaning of "Me'onah"?

What are the connotations of "Me'onah Elokei Kedem?

Rashi: Refer to 33:26:1:1. It means 'The Shechakim (mentioned in the previous Pasuk) serve as the residence of the Ancient G-d' - who preceded all the other gods and who chose Shechakim as His place of residence. 1

2.

Seforno: Hashem preceded the world, and everything that exists is a product of His. 2

3.

Targum Onkelos: It means 'The residence of the Ancient G-d' who, by His command, created the world.

4.

Targum Yonasan: Refer to 33:26:3:4. 'It (Shechakim) was Hashem's residence from time immemorial'.

5.

Tosfos ha'Shalem (Bereishis 28:11:19): This could mean that Hashem is the Me'on (location) of the world, or vice-versa. "Hashem Me'on Atah" (Tehilim 90:1) teaches that He is the Me'on of the world.

What are the connotations of "umi'Tachas Zero'os Olam"?

Rashi: Refer to 33:27:2:1. 'And all the mighty men 1 dwell beneath His residence', and who shiver and shake with dread before Him. 2

Seforno: 'And below the heaven, He is the G-d of all the powers and leaders that are to be found in all the worlds'. 3

Targum Yonasan: 'And under His mighty arm He carries the world'.

Da'as Zekenim, Rosh: He rules also under the Heaven just as[He rules] over the upper beings; [He rules] over the upper and lower beings.

Tosfos ha'Shalem (Bereishis 28:11:9): When Hashem folded Eretz Yisrael under Yakov, where were the residents of Eretz Yisrael? He made Himself the place for them, i.e. the land underneath them.

Hadar Zekenim (24): Zero'os is written Chaser 4 (without a 'Vav'), to teach us that Hashem bears the entire world with one arm.

Targum Onkelos: He drove out the enemy from before you and said 'Destroy (them)!'

Targum Yonasan: He scattered your enemy from before you and swore that He would destroy them.

Seforno: 'For it is not with your sword that you inherited the land - in which case you would be able to say that, in the course of time, when your strength wanes or when another nation comes upon the scene, they will be able to overpower you - But it is Hashem who drove them out!'
