Why does the Torah mention the Arneves in the feminine form, unlike the other animals?

1.

Ramban: Because Arneves is always referred to in the feminine

1

Ramban: As is that of the "Ya'anah" (the hyena) and, by the birds, the Yonah (a dove). See Ramban who, by the same token, lists a number of animals that only appear in the masculine.

2

Moshav Zekenim: This cannot be, since "Ma'alas Geirah" and "Hifrisah" are feminine terms?
