PESACHIM 91 (8 Adar) - This Daf has been sponsored in honor of the Yahrzeit of Sarah bas Baruch Hersh Rosenbaum, who passed away on 8 Adar I 5776. Dedicated by her loving husband, Zev Dov Rosenbaum.

SUMMARY

1. The Mishnah discusses various people who may be included in a group of the Korban Pesach with other people.

2. There is a dispute about whether a single person (who is not in a group) may offer a Korban Pesach.

3. The Gemara explains the reason behind this dispute (#2).

4. One should not form a group for the Korban Pesach that is comprised entirely of converts.

5. Women are obligated to eat Matzah on Pesach night.

A BIT MORE

1. For example, an Onen, a person who is supposed to be freed from jail by Pesach night, or a sick or elderly person who is able to eat a k'Zayis of the Korban may join someone else's Korban. We allow them to join others only in order that there should be someone who certainly will be able to eat the Korban.

2. Rebbi Yehudah: Every Korban Pesach requires at least two people to have a portion in it. Rebbi Yosi: One person may be the sole owner of a Korban Pesach.

3. Rebbi Yehudah understands that the verse, "You may not slaughter the Pesach in one [of your cities..]," teaches that one person alone may not offer a Korban Pesach. Rebbi Yosi understands that the word "one" teaches that one may not offer the Korban Pesach on a private Mizbe'ach at a time when such altars are forbidden.

4. This is because they have a tendency to be very stringent and they might end up saying that their Korban is invalid.

5. This is derived from the verse that places the prohibition against eating Chametz next to the Mitzvah to eat Matzah. Just as women are commanded not to eat Chametz, they are commanded to eat Matzah.
