SUMMARY

1. Ten Esronos of flour are used to make the breads of Chametz of a Todah. Another ten Esronos of flour are used to make the breads of Matzah.

2. The Milu'im in the Midbar were brought with the three types of Matzah of a Todah: Chalos, Rekikin, and Revuchah.

3. The breads brought with a Shalmei Nazir are two of the three types of Matzah of a Todah: Chalos and Rekikin, but not Revuchah.

4. When a Kohen who has previously done the Avodah is appointed Kohen Gadol, he brings two Esronos: one for his initiation as a Kohen Gadol, and one for his daily Chavitin.

5. If the breads of the Korban Todah are outside the wall at the time of the Shechitah of the Todah, the breads do not become sanctified.

6. If the Shechitah of the Korban Pesach was done while the Shochet had Chametz in his possession, he transgresses a Lo Sa'aseh. Rebbi Yehudah says that this is true also with regard to the Shechitah of the Tamid.

7. Reish Lakish says that one is Chayav for slaughtering the Korban with Chametz in his possession only if the Shochet or the Zorek, or one of the Bnei Chaburah, has Chametz with him in the Azarah. Rebbi Yochanan disagrees.

8. If the breads of a Todah were not sufficiently baked to develop a crust, the Shechitah of the Tamid does not sanctify them.

9. One fulfills his Mitzvah to eat Matzah on Pesach even if the Matzah is not completely baked, or was baked in a pan. The same is true with regard to the Lachmei Todah.

10. If the Shechitah of a Korban Todah was done with eighty Chalos, and the owner said that forty out of the eighty should be sanctified, they are sanctified.

11. If the Shechitah of a Korban Todah was done Stam, Chizkiyah says that forty out of the eighty breads are sanctified. Rebbi Yochanan disagrees.

12. If the Shechitah of a Korban Todah was done with intent to eat the Korban or burn the Eimurim the following day, or outside of Yerushalayim, the breads are sanctified according to Rebbi Meir.

13. If a Korban Todah was found to be a Tereifah after the Shechitah, or if it was slaughtered she'Lo Lishmah, the breads are not sanctified.

A BIT MORE

1. However, there are only ten breads of Chametz, and each bread is one Isaron, while there are thirty breads of Matzah, and each one is a third of an Isaron.

2. However, the Chametz breads of a Todah were not brought with the Milu'im.

3. The Chalos together with the Rekikin consist of ten Kavim, which is six Esronos plus another two thirds of an Isaron.

4. If the Kohen had never previously done the Avodah, he must bring three Esronos: one for his initiation as a Kohen Hedyot, one for his initiation as a Kohen Gadol, and one for his daily Chavitin.

5. Rebbi Yochanan explains that this refers to when the breads are outside the wall of Har ha'Bayis. If they are outside the wall of the Azarah, the breads become sanctified. Reish Lakish says that even if the breads are outside the wall of the Azarah, the breads do not become sanctified.

6. According to Rebbi Yehudah, even if the Shechitah of the afternoon Tamid was done while the Shochet had Chametz in his possession, he transgresses a Lo Sa'aseh.

7. According to Rebbi Yochanan, one is Chayav even if he has no Chametz with him in the Azarah.

8. Even if only one of the breads of the Todah was not sufficiently baked to develop a crust, the Shechitah of the Tamid does not sanctify the breads.

9. If the bread was baked to the extent that a piece can be broken off cleanly, it is considered sufficiently baked for the Mitzvah of Matzah and for the Lachmei Todah.

10. If the owner said that forty breads should not be sanctified unless all of the eighty become sanctified, they do not become sanctified, because no more than forty breads can be sanctified for a Todah.

11. Rebbi Zeira explains that according to Chizkiyah, the extra forty breads were brought as spare breads in case they were needed, while according to Rebbi Yochanan all eighty breads were brought to be used. Abaye explains that everyone agrees that the owner intended to use all eighty breads, but according to Chizkiyah the knife of Shechitah is a Kli Shares, and a Kli Shares sanctifies only what is needed and nothing more, while according to Rebbi Yochanan a Kli Shares sanctifies whatever the owner has in mind. Rav Papa says that the disagreement between Chizkiyah and Rebbi Yochanan is whether a knife is a Kli Shares; alternatively, the disagreement is whether a knife is better than a Kli Shares.

12. Since it is a Pesul that occurs after Shechitah, according to Rebbi Meir the bread is sanctified.

13. If the Eil ha'Milu'im or the two Kivsei Atzeres are slaughtered she'Lo Lishmah, the breads also do not become sanctified.
