SUMMARY

1. Reish Lakish says that if a Tamei person eats the meat of a Korban prior to the sprinkling of the blood, he is punished with Malkus. Rebbi Yochanan disagrees.

2. Abaye says that everyone agrees that if a Tahor person eats the meat of a Korban Tamei prior to the sprinkling of the blood, he is punished with Malkus.

3. Rava says that everyone agrees that if a Tahor person eats the meat of a Korban Tamei prior to the sprinkling of the blood, he is not punished with Malkus.

4. One who places the limbs of a non-Kosher animal on the Mizbe'ach transgresses an Aseh.

5. One who places the limbs of a Kosher Chayah on the Mizbe'ach transgresses an Aseh, according to Rebbi Yochanan. Reish Lakish disagrees.

6. If a Kohen Pasul receives the blood of a Korban or sprinkles the blood of a Korban, a valid Kohen may receive the blood which remains in the animal and sprinkle it on the Mizbe'ach.

7. If the blood of a Chatas was received in four utensils, and blood from each utensil was placed on a different corner of the Mizbe'ach, the remaining blood in the utensils shall be spilled on the Yesod of the Mizbe'ach.

8. If the blood of a Chatas was received in four utensils, and blood from only one of them was placed on the corners of the Mizbe'ach, only the blood from that utensil shall be spilled on the Yesod of the Mizbe'ach. Rebbi Elazar b'Rebbi Shimon disagrees.

9. If a valid Kohen receives the blood of a Korban, and he subsequently hands the blood to a Kohen Pasul, the blood shall be returned to the valid Kohen. If the Kohen received the blood in his right hand and put it in his left hand, it shall be returned to his right hand.

10. Chanan ha'Mitzri says that if the Sa'ir ha'Mishtale'ach dies, there is no need to draw lots again to choose another Sa'ir, even if the blood of the goat which is brought in the Heichal had already been received.

11. Rebbi Yehudah says that if the Sa'ir ha'Mishtale'ach dies after the blood of the goat which is brought in the Heichal is spilled out, new lots must be drawn.

12. Rebbi Yehudah says that after the Pesachim are brought on Erev Pesach, one cup of blood is scooped up from the floor of the Azarah and sprinkled on the Mizbe'ach.

A BIT MORE

1. However, even Reish Lakish agrees that there is no Chiyuv Kares for one who eats the meat of a Korban prior to the sprinkling of the blood.

2. The Torah teaches that there is a Chiyuv Malkus for one who eats wood from the Mizbe'ach or Levonah, even though these items are inedible. The meat of a Korban prior to the sprinkling of the blood should not be any worse than these items. Therefore, one is punished with Malkus.

3. There is a Chiyuv Malkus for eating wood from the Mizbe'ach or Levonah. However, the Chiyuv Malkus applies only if they were sanctified in a Kli Shares.

4. It is a Lav which is inferred from an Aseh, which has the status of an Aseh. Therefore, there is no Chiyuv Malkus.

5. Rebbi Yochanan maintains that since the Torah states that a Behemah shall be brought on the Mizbe'ach, a Chayah may not be brought. Reish Lakish says that the Torah means that it is a Mitzvah to bring a Kosher Behemah as a Korban, and it is a Reshus to bring a Kosher Chayah as a Korban.

6. However, if the blood of a Korban was received or sprinkled with intent to eat from the Korban after the allotted time or outside the allotted place, the Korban is Pasul even if there is blood remaining in the animal.

7. However, the blood that remains in the neck of the animal shall be spilled into the stream which runs through the Azarah.

8. According to the Tana Kama, the blood remaining in the other utensils shall be spilled into the stream which runs through the Azarah. According to Rebbi Elazar b'Rebbi Shimon, the blood in all of the utensils shall be spilled on the Yesod of the Mizbe'ach.

9. If the blood is given to a Kohen Pasul or placed in the left hand, the Korban is not Pasul as long as the blood is returned to a valid Kohen or into the right hand of the Kohen. Similarly, if the Kohen received the blood of a Korban in a Kli Shares and he subsequently placed it in a non-sanctified utensil, it shall be returned to a Kli Shares.

10. Chanan ha'Mitzri says that a Korban does not become Dachuy (pushed off from being brought on the Mizbe'ach) even if the blood had already been received. Therefore, it is necessary to bring only one more goat to be used as the Sa'ir ha'Mishtale'ach.

11. Similarly, if the blood of the goat which is brought in the Heichal spilled out, the Sa'ir ha'Mishtale'ach is left to die and new lots are drawn.

12. If the blood of one of the Pesachim had spilled after it had been received in a utensil, the sprinkling of a cup of blood from the floor of the Azarah is Machshir the Korban.
